One of Vetreria Re’s strongpoints is its ability range from the scope of safety glass to that of artistic glass, from the production of structural glazing to the manufacture of glass for shower cabinets and furniture, without neglecting the sector of insulating glass, which represents an extremely contemporary solution in view of building processes that are increasingly energy efficient.
As regards the sector of safety, Vetreria Re proposes the production of made-to-measure glass for installation in residential or working environments: laminated glass (or layered), bulletproof glass and toughened/tempered glass, which allow for the production of simple accident-prevention glass, or, with growing levels of protection, anti-intrusion, shatterproof and even bulletproof glass, ideal for producing windows for shops and banks, museum display cases, armoured doors, car windows and much more. In order to increase the safety of laminated glass, it is in fact sufficient to increase the number and thickness of the layers of glass and PVB, the adhesive plastic film which, placed between the different layers of glass, allows them to stay together.
There is also glass that can protect in case of fire: this is the so-called fireproof and firewall glass, classified by special rules in relation to safety respective as RE and REI glass, which is able to slow down the spread of flames, allowing persons present to get to safety and protecting against the risk of explosion. Glass characterised by particular resistance to heat is also glass-ceramics, largely used to create covers and other elements for ovens, stoves, fireplaces and so on.
But the glass made-to-measure by Vetreria Re also allows for excellent furniture solutions to be produced, which range from shower cabinets, even made-to-measure with curved doors, in angular positions or by integrating the cabinet with a bathtub, the production of glass surfaces for furniture, which allow for the creation of elegant decorative elements, such as tables, coffee tables, desks and cabinets, not forgetting the very sophisticated and original glass floors, created in glass blocks or in other walkable safety glass. Among the customised furniture solutions proposed by Vetreria Re are also the mirrors, which can be decorated in many different ways and customised so as to transform them into unique objects able to characterise the furniture of residential or professional environments: sand-blasted, engraved, laminated, cut crystal glass or ornate and decorated mirrors are able to add a touch of charm to corridors, bedroom, bathrooms and living rooms with a traditional or contemporary style.
The production of customised artistic glass is another of the areas in which Vetreria Re gives the best of itself, proposing gold leaf decorations, sand-blasted engravings, layers with fabric and wire mesh, glass decoration with wire binding, coloured, glazed and painted glass: all these techniques allow for the production of glass partitions, interior doors, screens, room dividers and other unique and original items of furniture, able to give character to any room. With the method of sandblasting it is also possible to create customised frosted glass, which enables the production of sophisticated items of furniture, including the very popular sliding or hinged doors and dividing walls, whether they are frosted on one side, on both sides or with decoration. Another solution that allows for decorative windows and doors to be created with great effect is that which uses patterned glass, created by casting, extrusion or lamination, to obtain the characteristic raised pattern on one or both sides of the glass. Particularly popular for the creation of doors, shower cabinets, refrigerator shelves, dividing walls, railings, dividers for balconies and much more, patterned glass, like frosted glass, can be subjected to special processes able to increase its level of safety and thermo-acoustic insulation.
The theme of thermal and acoustic insulation is particularly important in the field of creating glass for building, as it is essential for the purposes of obtaining greater energy efficiency: in fact, the majority of heat dispersion occurs through the windows; therefore, it is essential to ensure that customised insulating glass is installed on appropriately insulated windows and doors. Vetreria Re is able to provide customised glass with high noise-prevention and thermo-insulating power: the solutions that are most popular today for increasing the energy efficiency of buildings include acoustic glass, double-glazing (or insulated glass) with double or triple glazing and with the possibility of inserting Argon gas in the cavities instead of simple dry air; magnetron glass, also known as low emission glass, which is made with a special coating of metal oxides with strong insulated power, deposited on glass fused through a cold-vacuum electromagnetic process.
Also forming part of insulating glass is arrised and reflective glass, which is used predominantly in school buildings, or factories for professional and working use, thanks to its capacity to reflect solar energy, allowing light, but not heat, to enter, and at the same time protecting the privacy of the interiors (but only during the day: by night, when the internal brightness is stronger due to artificial light, the interior becomes visible from outside and not vice versa); and solar-control glass, i.e. all those glass panes for building treated so as to obtain a pre-determined selective reflection of solar rays; in other words solar-control glass is able selectively to reflect part of the sun’s rays aimed at reducing their penetration internally, in the form of light and heat.
