Vetreria Re has been active in the design, creation, and installation of safety glazing and architectural glass elements since 1982. Thanks to a professional approach that draws on in-depth technical expertise, attention to customer needs, the ability to develop innovative projects, and constant technological updates, Vetreria Re is now one of the most reliable reference points nationally and internationally in the field of designing and building safety glass elements for private or public environments.
The creation of elements such as safety glass railings is a complex matter that involves merging extremely advanced technical and architectural skills. In other words, when installing a safety glass railing, it is necessary to consider aesthetics without ever compromising current safety regulations. Glass railings must necessarily be made using specific safety or fall-protection crystals.

Glass railings and balustrades are architecturally scenographic and refined elements, capable of providing a discreet elegance to mezzanines, raised floors, stairs, terraces, and balconies, while simultaneously ensuring the safety of people and property. Hence the need to use exclusively fall-protection safety crystals, in tempered or laminated glass, for their construction. These specific types of glass, also known respectively as toughened glass and coupled glass, are capable of guaranteeing high levels of passive safety. This means that even in the event of accidental breakage, the safety glass railings do not risk shattering into a thousand pieces, which could jeopardize the safety of people and things. On the contrary, even if a fracture occurs, the safety glass railing remains cohesive, preventing shards from exploding in every direction.
In fact, if the safety railing is made of laminated glass, the presence of plastic adhesive layers (PVB) used to hold the glass sheets together keeps the fragments in place even if the crystal breaks. The same applies if the safety railing is made of tempered glass: in this case, the specific manufacturing process—which involves heating the glass to the so-called tempering temperature and then abruptly cooling the outer surface—gives the crystal particular characteristics of strength, flexibility, and resistance to impact and thermal shock. Furthermore, in both cases, even upon breakage, the glass fragments are rounded and not sharp.
Suitable for indoor or outdoor installation in private or public settings, safety glass railings and balustrades are elements of refined and versatile design, fitting tastefully into the most diverse architectural styles. Available in various colors and shapes depending on the treatment the safety crystal has undergone, fall-protection glass railings represent an element capable of enhancing both aesthetic taste and security. Each installation is designed to offer a seamless finish and maximum comfort, ensuring structural stability and high-level acoustic silence.
