Ideal for those who require maximum security without wanting to renounce elegance and brightness, glazed armored doors combine high performance with tasteful aesthetics. Thanks to a wide range of customization options, armored doors with glass integrate perfectly into various environments, whether residential, commercial, professional, public, or private. The use of safety glass for armored doors allows for high luminosity without sacrificing maximum protection against attempts at break-ins, smashing, theft, robbery, or vandalism.

Glass for Armored Doors

Since safety is never enough at home or in the workplace, Vetreria Re has developed a series of high-performance safety crystals capable of guaranteeing maximum protection against vandals or intruders. Glazed armored doors are made by layering three different safety levels, whose characteristics can vary based on the protection needs and aesthetic tastes of the client. Generally, each armored door with glass is made using a laminated armored glass for the exterior (in compliance with the EN 356 P5 A standard) composed of two or more glass sheets of at least 6 mm thickness each, with a PVB plastic film interposed. This ensures that even in the event of an impact or attempted smashing with blunt objects, the glass remains in place, continuing to protect people and property.

Between the external armored glass and the internal glass, a cavity or chamber is created to achieve greater thermal insulation and acoustic silence. To maximize thermal insulation, dry air can be replaced with high-insulation gases such as Argon, and low-emissivity glass can be used. Finally, the accident-prevention glass placed on the side of the armored door facing the interior consists of two laminated crystal sheets with a minimum thickness of 4 mm, separated by a plastic film designed for the passive safety of the glass itself. In other words, even if the glass breaks, the fragments remain cohesive and adherent to the film, not posing a threat to personal safety and ensuring constant comfort.

Aesthetics, Safety, and Functionality

While from a security standpoint, armored doors with glass are equal to traditional armored doors, regarding aesthetics, they can be considered superior. Customizable on both the internal and external sides, glass for armored doors can be sandblasted or made with colored sheets to combine the protection of property and people with a pleasant and refined finish. Thanks to the insertion of various security elements within the frame, glass armored doors allow for complete freedom of view and the desired brightness. Glass for armored doors lets the light in but keeps intruders out.
