In this process, molten glass is poured onto a bath of molten tin in a controlled atmosphere. Because glass has a lower specific gravity than tin, it spreads across the surface, creating a naturally smooth and flat layer. For bathrooms, glass doors, railings, storefronts, schools, and hospitals, it is mandatory to use <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"363\">safety glass<\/b>\u2014either tempered or laminated.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">Tempered and laminated glasses are the most common industrial flat safety crystals.
