Double-glazed glass is a particular type of glass consisting of two or more panes joined together by the insertion of an aluminium frame that allows for a distance between 6 and 15 mm to be maintained. That distance allows for the creation of an air chamber essential for the purposes of thermal and acoustic insulation: dry air, or noble gases like Argon or Krypton, can in fact be inserted inside this chamber, which, being characterised by a lower co-efficient of thermal exchange compared to simple air, allow for the values of thermal insulation of the chamber to be further strengthened.

The structure of sheets that make up the double-glazed glass are kept solid through special glue, which is spread on the frame before pressing the entire structure with a special machine that is able to create an air seal between the two glass panes. Finally, a bi-component substance is applied around the glass, which allows for the chamber to be definitively sealed, increasing the thermal and acoustic insulation of the windows and doors. Operating since 1989 in the design, creation and installation of architectural and structural elements in glass, Vetreria Re offers a wide range of safety glass and insulating glass, which includes double-glazing, glass with magnetron coating, arrised reflective glass, solar control glass, laminated or layered glass, toughened or tempered glass and much more.
