The creation of self-supporting windows poses various problems of a technical nature to architects and engineers, which can, however, now be easily overcome thanks to the use of some sophisticated systems offered by techniques of processing and installing the glass. In particular, those systems include the Spiderglass fixing system which allows for the construction both external facings of facades even of significant dimensions, and glass walls for separating internal rooms, and U-Glass which allows for the creation of structures of large sizes without the need for framings.

Thanks to optimal performance in terms of resistance to stresses and elasticity, Spiderglass self-supporting windows are suitable for creating even very large glass structures, so long as they are designed to take account of the structural limitations of the glass and the stresses applied to it. However, subject to these points, it is possible to design and construct self-supporting glass that does not collapse and suffer changes in shape under its own weight.

U-Glass also allows for the creation of facades in self-supporting glass for external and internal uses. Characterised by the typical U-shaped section and the slightly rippled surface able to spread light and solar rays uniformly, U-Glass is a translucent profiled glass, available in reinforced or low emission version which allows for the creation of self-supporting walls, dividing walls, internal partitions and decorative elements, along with facings, roofs and canopies, with single or double wall vertical installation.
