Arrising of glass is an operation similar to edge deletion, which allows for the removal of any micro-fibres and imperfections present on the edge of the pane which could cause breakage by thermal or mechanical shock. As well as being more resistant, arrised glass allows for easier transportation – as, being more resistant, it does not risk being broken due to impacts – and it lends itself well to easier installation – as it has no sharp edges that could be harmful. In order to ensure greater resistance and safety, Vetreria Re performs arrising on all reflective glass.

Reflective glass stands out for its ability to keep low the total amount of solar energy that can penetrate from the outside towards the inside. In other words, reflective glass is able to absorb or reflect the majority of thermal energy that strikes the external face of the glass, stopping it from penetrating into the internal environment, causing overheating.

Created through a process similar to that of low emission glass with coating, arrised reflective glass can be covered with a magnetron coating (i.e. a coating of metal oxides deposited by vacuum through an electromagnetic process) or pyrolytic coating (i.e. a coating of metal oxides deposited through pyrolysis at high temperatures). Reflective glass is able to guarantee protection from the heat of the sun and from prying eyes, without limiting the brightness of the interiors and visual comfort: reflecting from one side and transparent from the other, arrised reflective glass is also known as “solar control” glass by virtue of its capacity to reflect sunlight guaranteeing intimacy and protection from the heat.
