Structural glass is used in creating architectural works. In compliance with the provisions of legal regulations in the field of construction safety, structural glass can be produced with a flat or curved shape depending upon the application requirements. Of course, when we speak of curved glass, we are referring to common glass which is bent along a single axis of the pane (horizontal or vertical) with an effect similar to the curvature of a sheet of paper when two opposite and parallel sides are brought slightly together.

When, on the other hand, the curving involves both the main dimensions of the pane, we are talking about hollow glass, which is used to create bottles, glasses, vases, chandeliers and so on.

Structural glass, whether flat or curved, must come with the appropriate guarantee of quality, certified by national and international certifications issued by the relevant bodies, and durability, or rather the capacity to keep its physical properties intact for the whole useful life of the work project. Used to create elements such as beams, pillars or membranes or as external covering in the creation of self-supporting glass doors, structural glass must be able to guarantee safety to persons, ensuring safe behaviour even in the case of breakage.
